2016 is an important year for local upstarts With Confidence. New label, debut album, the Sydney pop punk lads are ready to make their impression on listeners.
Embodying the 'wear your heart on your sleeve' ethos, their upcoming full-length, 'Better Weather', sees the band explore a range of sensitive and widespread issues like depression and anxiety.
Guitarist/backing vocalist Inigo Del Carmen checked in recently to offer his Top 5 albums to help get rid of the blues.
1. The Wonder Years - The Greatest Generation
This album really gets me in the mood to scream along to all the tracks. After I finish listening to this album I always feel 10 times better even though my voice will be gone from all the yelling.
2. The Strokes - Is This It
When I'm trapped in my room and I've got nothing else to do I'll grab my guitar and jam out to this album. A great album to sing/play along and chill out to.
3. Citizen - Youth
As ironic as it sounds, I love listening to this album when I'm driving alone at night so I can yell along to all the tracks. A real chill/head banger album you can jam along to when things aren't going your way.
4. La Dispute - Somewhere At The Bottom Of The River Between Vega and Altair
I love everything about this album. The lyrics deeply influenced the way I wrote my songs. A real killer album if you want to let it all out and thrash about in your room/car. Gotta listen to it from start to finish.
5. The Dangerous Summer - War Paint
Firstly I want to thank Josh (our drummer) for introducing me to this band, probably one of our biggest influences when we were starting out. Brilliant for any occasion. This album will pick you up and put you back on your feet when you're feeling down and out.
‘Better Weather‘ is out June 17 and available for pre-order via 24 Hundred and iTunes.
