If you want to see him, best be quick - the annual ballot is closing soon
The annual Meredith Music Festival is kicking off its line-up revelations for 2015 in grand style with the news that the ever-enigmatic Father John Misty has agreed to perform at this year's soiree in the 'Sup in mid-December, thus setting the bar for probably the best damn Meredith yet.
Known to the taxman as Joshua Tillman, Father John Misty has far outgrown his early days as the drummer for renowned folk-rockers Fleet Foxes to become a cult of personality unto himself over the course of a handful of EPs and two acclaimed studio full-lengths, 2012's debut effort Fear Fun and this year's rapturously received I Love You, Honeybear. Anyone who's seen Father John Misty in the flesh on one of his previous southern sojourns knows his show is an experience to behold, and if this is the quality with which the artful team at Meredith are getting under way, we can expect that further announcements will be just as salivation-worthy.
Of course, there's no real time to wait — the annual ticket ballot for this year's festival closes at 10.25pm this coming Monday, 10 August, so you'll want to be hitting the event's website to suss getting your name in the running to attend.
As always, the 2015 Meredith Music Festival is BYO and no-dickheads-allowed, so leave that alpha-dog attitude at the gate, friends. It descends on its traditional grounds near the picturesque township of Meredith, in Victoria, from 11-13 December.
