The band mingled and gave teary hugs for over an hour last night...

More Simple Plan More Simple Plan

Simple Plan fans were in tears at Sydney's The Standard last night, after a planned promotional gig for the Take 40 Live Lounge was cancelled at the last minute. The band said doctor's orders meant that frontman Pierre Bouvier couldn't perform.

But while the intimate show for 300 punters, who had bought tickets through Debit MasterCard, didn't take place, four fifths of the band showed up to mingle with the crowd, sign autographs and have a Q&A with the audience. During the Q&A the band said that Bouvier was in fact masturbating back at the hotel - much to the appreciation of the audience.

Despair turned into tears of joy as fans got photos with the band and had them sign any bit of memorabilia they could get their hands on.

TheMusic.com.au witnessed one fan put a Simple Plan shirt on over another one, so she could get both signed. In tears the whole time, she got her signature - and a hug - from the band.
