Giving back to community halls

More Fanny Lumsden More Fanny Lumsden

Fanny Lumsden and her band The Thrillseekers will be undertaking an extensive regional tour to both launch her crowdfunded debut album, Small Town Big Shot, due 18 September, and help raise funds for and awareness of community halls across the Riverina and beyond.

Both rock'n'roll and country music really began in the community halls of Australia's cities, suburbs and country towns back in the mid-'50s. Sadly, most of those halls have been left to fall apart, but the alt-country artist wants to do something about that.

As well as raising funds for regional halls, Lumsden will also be running workshops aimed at fostering local talent as the tour progresses through regional Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

She'll also be showcasing her album in the state capital cities. For details, go to theGuide.
