There ARE good people in the world!

More Girl York More Girl York

We love happy endings here at theMusic.com.au (oh, shush), so we're stoked to learn that Perth grunge-pop act Girl York has had their stolen instruments returned safe and sound by an honest family in the Wheatbelt region of WA.

Girl York's Shaun Bob Martin shared the feelgood story on Facebook, explaining that the family — who work for Graham Stevens shearing contractors — were on the way back to the Sunnybrae Parsons farm in Pingelly after a party in Perth, when they came across the missing keyboard and synth "in the scrub on the side of the road".

"Loading the keys into the work van, the champs took them home and gave them a whirl - all still working and producing some crazy sounds," he wrote.

Dennis, Winika and Charlotte then gave the instruments a Google and stumbled upon the article by us, putting two and two together and using it to hit up Girl York.

"After a lovely drive through the Wheatbelt to Pingelly, I caught up with the guys for beers, some happy snaps and an afternoon chat. Good to meet you guys - you turned my week around and restored a bit of faith!" says Martin.

We're so happy Girl York has their gear back and cheers to Dennis, Winika and Charlotte for being such legends!
