Ezra Collective, Freddie Gibbs, Sampa The Great Lead New Festival 'Move My Way'

After some teasing, Australian artist management and local and international touring company Astral People have announced the line-up, dates and venues for the inaugural Move My Way festival.

Taking place at Sydney’s Carriageworks on Saturday, 3 October, and Melbourne’s PICA on Sunday, 4 October, the festival presents a genre-fluid display of artists spanning hip-hop, R&B, jazz and modern club music.

Mercury Prize-winning jazz quintet Ezra Collective lead the line-up alongside Grammy-nominated American rapper Freddie Gibbs, London-based septet Kokoroko, and acclaimed Zambian-born rapper and singer/songwriter Sampa The Great.

The line-up is rounded out by London-based singer and producer Qendresa, singer and percussionist outfit GENA (Liv.e & Karriem Riggins), a pioneering artist of Manchester’s electronic scene, Luke Una, Tokyo-born multi-instrumentalist and DJ Takuya Nakamura, renowned selector and NTS radio host Coco María, radio host, podcaster, DJ and mainstay of the global festival circuit, Jamz Supernova, and club-ready Londoner Tash LC.

Elsewhere, the line-up has locked in Eora/Sydney-based visionary, xmunashe, as well as Naarm/Melbourne-based Aboriginal and Fijian rapper and producer Miles Nautu. They’ll be accompanied by Mazzacles in Sydney and Singaporean DJ RAH in Melbourne.

Move My Way will also be home to takeovers from Sydney-based record label Planet Trip and Melbourne’s Northside Records, welcoming artists such as Mike Who, Ritual, Chris Gill, El Fuentes, and more.
