Two big events called off.

Two NSW festivals initially slated for tomorrow have been called off at the last minute due to the extreme weather going through the state this weekend.

While the Kiama leg of The Red Hot Summer Tour has been postponed until next month, Warriewood's Party In The Park event has been cancelled altogether thanks to the ongoing heavy rain.

"It's with deep regret that Party In The Park 2017 has been cancelled due to the severe weather and potential safety issues," organisers said on Facebook today.

"We'll be back next year for another spectacular event, and hope to see you all at Party In The Park."

Meanwhile, The Red Hot Summer Tour in Kiama has been rescheduled to Sunday, 9 April with the line-up, including John Farnham and Darryl Braithwaite, all confirmed for the new date.

Tickets already purchased are valid for the new date, however punters can receive a full refund from point of purchase before 5pm on Friday, 24 March.

"The region has experienced 150ml of rain in the last 24 hours and there is a further 75ml-100ml and strong winds anticipated for tomorrow," tour promoter Duane McDonald said.

"The safety of our patrons, staff and artists is paramount, and with the high rainfall and strong winds, it is not a safe environment to hold the outdoor show as planned.

"We have been in close contact with emergency services, the police and our engineers, and have had to make the call to postpone the event.

"With roads being cut, more extreme weather forecast and the local destruction, it is too unsafe to continue. We are disappointed that it will not go ahead as planned tomorrow, but we are not cancelling."
