Sydney's iconic Marble Bar has appointed a new venue booker, with Nathan Farrell Entertainment taking the 120-year-old venue on effective immediately.
Situated below the Hilton in Sydney – who own the room – the Marble Bar was built in 1893 and the Victorian-style ornate archways and décor are intact. As well as hosting live music, the venue's ties to rock history are also evident on Cold Chisel's Breakfast At Sweethearts album cover, which was shot inside the venue.
NFE add Marble Bar to their booking roster, which also includes The Basement in Circular Quay, the Newtown Festival and more recently the revamped Lansdowne Hotel. The company plans to curate seasonal live entertainment that will run across three nights – Thursday through Saturday – with no cover charge.
“This room is absolutely stunning, in prime position with quality production and has a great capacity for crossover into the wider music community and scene,” said NFE's Nathan Farrell.
“We're intending on making something really special and unique as a free live music experience unlike any other in Sydney. Fans of what we produced for almost a decade at The Mac will not be disappointed.”
The 200 capacity room currently has a NEXO PA installed and recently hosting the second annual Discovered band competition, which was won by Newcastle indie band Nova & The Experience.
As well as their venue roster, NFE have nine artists on their music management/touring roster, including Thundamentals and Jones Jnr.
