Hip hop's tightest-knit community just got a little tighter
Sydney-based hip hop luminary and social activist L-FRESH The Lion has become the latest artist to join the ever-growing roster of artists under the watchful, esteemed eye of local label Elefant Traks.
Last year was an ascendant one for L-FRESH The Lion, in which he released his debut studio full-length, One, and spent a good deal of time on stages honing his craft and performance to the point of turning heads among the Elefant Traks family.
"“We're thrilled to welcome L-FRESH The LION to the Elefant Traks family," label manager Tim Levinson, better known as Urthboy, said of the signing.
"He's an incredible live performer and an inspiring songwriter who makes dope music. There's no one like him and he brings a great voice and talent to a roster that we're very proud of. We're so excited about it.”

“No musician’s success happens due to one individual," L-FRESH The Lion said. "I’m thankful to have amazing supports around me in my music from my fan family, to my band and management. And now I get to build with one of the most professional and powerful teams in the Australian music industry.”
That team already takes care of artists such as Hermitude, Jane Tyrrell, Horrorshow, Jimblah, Joelistics, Sky'High and many others, so it's unsurprising that Levinson, as expressed in the below video, saw L-FRESH The Lion as such an appropriate fit for the soundscape of the label.
L-FRESH The Lion has three shows in Western Australia in the very near future, so if you're over on the left side of the country and want to catch the newest member of the Elefant Traks cabal in action, head to the Prince Of Wales in Bunbury this Thursday, 15 January (with Mirrah and DJ MK-1), Margaret River's Settlers Tavern (16 January) or Fly By Night, in Fremantle, on Saturday 17 January to do so.
