John Schumann & Hugh McDonald team up on 30th anniversary of I Was Only 19.

One of the many exciting acts announced for this year's The Gum Ball festival, which happens in a few weeks, are legendary Australian folk singer-songwriters John Schumann & Hugh McDonald, who came to fame in the 1980s as a part of the band Redgum.

That band's biggest hit, and one of our country's most treasured songs of all time, I Was Only 19, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, something that will be celebrated at the festival on Thursday 25 April - ANZAC Day.

Along with that exclsuive performance, Schumann has reworked The Long Run and teamed up with McDonald to record it and we have it streaming exclusively right now! Have a listen...

While it's another song with themes of war flowing throughout, The Long Run features a more hopeful tone in Schumann's lyrics while remaining a very powerful piece. Schumann and McDonald play The Gum Ball at 9pm on Wednesday 25 April.
