It's a very good week.

More WAAX More WAAX

Much-loved Brisbane group WAAX are finally dropping their debut album this week and fans will be getting a preview of it on triple j ahead of its release.

Dubbed Big Grief, the album has picked up this week’s Feature Album spot on the station.

"I think people are gonna be surprised by it," vocalist Maz DeVita told The Music recently. "There’s lots of ebbs and flows to the record and, yeah, hopefully people see us in a different or more mature light."

"There’s slower tracks on there. It’s kind of more subdued production on some tracks.

"I think we’ve always been looking for points in the set where we could explore those things and kind of give the set more room to breathe, because then the bigger moments are even bigger when they’re put next to a slower song." Read the full interview with DeVita here.
