Claire Whiting will step into the role vacated by acting station manager Innez Tulloch
There's a changing of the guard afoot at Brisbane community radio station 4ZZZ, with accomplished musician, former Inland Sea member, current Miss Pompeii mastermind and all-round Good Human Claire Whiting being named as new general manager today.
Whiting has been easing into the role over the past week, taking the reins from acting station manager Innez Tulloch (of Thigh Master, alongside other outfits such as Deafcult, Feathers and Roku Music, among others), who has wrapped up in her role after more than a year of keeping the ship afloat, having stepped into management in 2015.
Whiting brings more than a decade of experience as a working musician to the role, as well as tertiary qualifications in music, performance, communications and media, giving her a well-developed command of areas such as stakeholder and staff relationships and resources management, as well as communication, systems and interpersonal skills for days.
The veteran muso comes aboard the 4ZZZ amid a period of great change, as the station locks down new staff and station structures to help them navigate the year ahead and beyond. It stands to be an exciting period in the Zeds' history, and they couldn't have asked for a better captain at the wheel.
