The biggest metal event Australia has seen in years!
After a week of teasing, Slipknot have announced that Knotfest, the nightmarish festival curated by the band, will take over Australia next year with three massive East Coast dates. We gotta say: this is the biggest heavy metal event the country has seen in many years.
Let's run through everything you need to know about Knotfest:
WHO'S ON THE LINE-UP?
The inaugural Knotfest Australia will be headlined by none other than the chaotic titular heavy metal band. Joining Slipknot for an insanely massive line-up are a range of international heavy music superstars, the biggest metal band to come from Australia, up-and-coming local acts, and the already-confirmed Bad Omens and Void Of Vision.

KNOTFEST ISN'T YOUR ORDINARY FESTIVAL; IT HAS ITS OWN MUSEUM
That's right! The Knotfest Museum is a fan-favourite attraction at worldwide Knotfests, full of jaw-dropping items from throughout the band's history, such as old masks and jumpsuits, Wait And Bleed marionettes, the late Joey Jordison's kit, guitars, and so much more. Caution, though: tickets to browse through the museum are strictly limited in each city.
WHAT ELSE IS KNOTFEST KNOWN FOR?
Knotfest was created by Slipknot in 2012. From the original event in Iowa - where else? - the festival quickly expanded to Japan in 2014. Knotfest has also stopped in Canada, Germany, Mexico, Colombia and France.
The event is lovingly curated as an immersive, unforgettable, ‘dark carnival experience’, that invites you into Slipknot’s apocalyptic underworld where stunning visuals, fire breathers and nightmarish creatures on stilts set the stage for an intoxicating and memorable weekend of live music.
