A GoFundMe page has already raised over $10,000.

Events are set to take place throughout next month to raise money for Melbourne-based DJ PQM (Prince Quick Mix) following a diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease.

PQM, real name Manuel Napuri, was diagnosed with the disease in August last year. Napuri is best-known for his work with Kiss FM and his weekly show Friday Night Live.

"My symptoms began in 2017 when I lost the ability to hold a guitar pick and had to cancel a gig," reads a statement from Napuri.

"I remember being so upset because that gig was going to be my first ‘unplugged set’ with just me & my Martin guitar. Never did I imagine things would get worse. During that time I also started experiencing very painful debilitating cramps all over my body.

"I have been fighting this with everything I have but I must admit, at times there is much sadness and it can be hard to keep it together. The thought of not seeing the kids grow up is scary and depressing, one that I struggle with the most.

"Thank goodness I have many wonderful friends and a very loving supportive family, which helps me to stay strong & positive through this difficult journey. Overall I would say I’m doing very well given my circumstances.

A GoFundMe page, which was launched in late August, has raised over $10,000 for Napuri to assist with medical treatment and living expenses.
