Aus Music Prize Final Moves To Melbourne & You're All Invited

The 12th Australian Music Prize (AMP) is just around the corner and details for the 2017 event have today been confirmed. 

After being based for all 11 years in Sydney, the AMP has been moved to Melbourne this year, given that all nine shortlisted artists are based there, and will take place at Toff In Town on Thursday 9 March from 7.30pm. 

The nine acts shortlisted this year are AB Original, The Avalanches, Big Scary, Camp Cope, DD Dumbo, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Nick Cave & The Bad SeedsOlympia and The Peep Tempel, with the winner to receive $30,000 in prize money from PPCA.

The 2017 event is also to be hosted by Melbourne's own Deborah Conway and PPCA CEO, Dan Rosen.

"As a musician of 35 years with more than a dozen albums released, a past judge of the AMP and a Melbournian, I am delighted to be co-hosting this year's very special event celebrating so many Melbourne musicians and so much great music," Conway said. 

The night will also feature performances by Rat & Co, Ali Barter and a surprise third guest.
