Prepare your bodies for a piping-hot serve of goth-symphonic-prog-thrash-folk-metal, people

Dutch symphonic metal band Epica have announced four antipodean dates for 2016.

In support of their fifth studio album The Quantum Enigma, which has been hailed as the band's most intense and emotional release yet, the six-piece will tour the East Coast and Auckland from March 16-20.

Epica's eclectic mix of goth/symphonic/progressive/thrash/folk-metal (now there's a sonic cocktail) has electrified audiences the world over as well as garnering awards and even forming their own festival. Joining them on tour will be Perth Progressive five-piece Voyager, whose wide musical range is a great match for the Dutch outfit.

Epica and Voyager will start the tour on Wednesday 16 March in Auckland at The Studio. They will then head over the Tasman to Brisbane, where they will hit up Max Watt's on Friday 18 March. The day after, the group will be in Sydney playing Max Watt's, and they will round out the tour on Sunday 20 March at Melbourne's 170 Russell. All shows are 18-plus.
