Emperor end new album rumours

Veteran Norwegian black metallers Emperor have observed the band does not plan to release a new studio album despite the group returning for select festival appearances next year.

Speculation grew following news Emperor will play Wacken Festival 2014 to coincide with the 20th anniversary of ‘In the Nightside Eclipse’.

However, the band has put to rest any suggestions of new material:

"There will be no new studio album or a worldwide tour, only a few exclusive festival appearances next year, to mark the celebration of this landmark album."
