The dual legends of country music will perform six shows Down Under mid-year
Veteran US country icons Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell have announced a batch of six performances on Australian shores later this year, with the Grammy Award-winning duo set to be joined for their southern sojourn by local muso Harmony James.
The three golden-voiced troubadours will get their Aussie tour under way at Perth's Concert Hall on Sunday, 21 June, and shoot across coasts to please punters in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong in time to say farewell at Jupiters Theatre on the Gold Coast, on Wednesday, 1 July.
Harris and Crowell are both venerated performers in their own right, but have worked together frequently over the past 40-odd years, most recently coming together in 2012 to record acclaimed full-length Old Yellow Moon, which was released in 2013 and went on to net the duo a Grammy Award. Crowell spent much of the 1970s and '80s as part of Harris' backing outfit The Hot Band, with Harris having recorded Crowell-composed songs numbering well into the double digit. Presently, they're plying their talents to creating the follow-up to Old Yellow Moon, so their mid-year journey should find them in fine, fired-up form indeed.
Pre-sale tickets for Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell's 2015 tour of Australia will be available from midday next Thursday, 12 March, with general-release tickets up for grabs from 10am the following Tuesday, 17 March. Tickets will be available via Ticketek and Ticketmaster; see theGuide or The Music App for more details.
