Emma Louise’s 2011 Single Is Now A UK Hit

Jungle takes over the world

Brisbane’s Emma Louise has a UK hit on her hands thanks to her 2011 track that keeps finding legs around the world.

A remix of a remix of her track Jungle was released in the UK earlier this week by Positva UK and is holding place in the top echelons of the iTunes charts. It’s currently sitting at four in the UK iTunes charts and is top of the iTunes electronic charts.

The track has had a remarkably long shelf-life for the modern era of disposable hits. Originally released in 2011 on the Full Hearts And Empty Rooms EP, the single has since been certified gold – 35,000 scans. In April 2013 Louise’s independent album Vs Head Vs Heart – which features Jungle – debuted at 12 on the Australian ARIA Charts.

Last year Jungle also received a remix by Berlin-based house DJ Wankelmut, with the resulting My Head Is A Jungle track released in Germany through Universal. Cracking the top 30 in Germany, the single spread around Europe and proved a surprise hit in Italy where it peaked at five and has been certified platinum.

The Wankelmut version has since been tweaked by Detroit’s MK into the My Head Is A Jungle (MK remix) that is currently in the iTunes chart and is set to debut in the overall UK chart later this week. Its position will be helped by recent airplay on Radio 1.

The track doesn’t currently have a local release and as far as the Australian public is concerned Louise has been quiet for 2014, with only a few social media updates earlier in the year.
