Bluesfest has announced a last-minute line-up change, with Elvis Costello & The Imposters no longer performing at the festival this weekend due to COVID.
A statement from organisers this afternoon confirms that “a key member” of the band is sick and that the band’s festival appearance and Aussie headline dates have been rescheduled.
“The only upside of this news is that we can announce our first headliner for Bluesfest 2024: Elvis Costello & The Imposters,” Bluesfest said.
“Bluesfest 2024 will be held from 28 March - 1 April 2024. If you have tickets to see Elvis Costello & The Imposters at The Sydney Opera House or The Palais Theatre, Melbourne, these shows have been rescheduled.”
Costello added: "We are so disappointed not to be returning to the stages at Byron Bay, where we had plans to surprise you with a few friends joining the show.

“It is maddening these unfortunate but unavoidable circumstances mean that our three sold-out nights at Sydney Opera House and a return to the Palais in St. Kilda must also be rescheduled.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience and hope that the wait will seem worthwhile when we return."
The band’s 2024 dates are:
SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE - Sunday, 31 March 2024 (Easter Sunday)
SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE - Monday, 1 April 2024 (Easter Monday)
SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE - Tuesday, 2 April 2024
THE PALAIS THEATRE, MELBOURNE - Thursday, 4 April, 2024
