Elton John Reschedules Tour Dates After Suffering "Potentially Deadly" Infection

The singer is now recovering at home.

More Elton John Elton John

Elton John has been forced to push back a number of tour dates after suffering an infection, which resulted in the music legend spending two nights in intensive care.

As BBC reports, the 70-year-old fell ill while on tour in South America last week and was rushed back home to the UK to seek urgent treatment.

A statement from John's management gave few details, but did say that the infection was "rare and potentially deadly".

Nine gigs initially scheduled to take place in Las Vegas and California over the coming weeks have been postponed until June.

John is now recovering at home.

The singer took to Instagram yesterday to thank his fans for their support, writing "Thanks so much to everyone for reaching out. I'm resting well and getting stronger every day."

John is scheduled to hit Australia this September for a special run of shows. Click on theGuide for more details.
