Elton John Announces 'Intimate' Hordern Pavilion Show

When Sir Elton John and his band announced they'd be returning to Australian stages back in May, tickets were sold in a flurry for his six dates around NSW, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, as you'd expect. Now, he's announced an "intimate" show at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, a throwback to the venue that was his "original 'go to gig' in Sydney". 

We know what you're thinking — the Hordern is massive. Regardless, it's the smallest venue on John's tour and is a chance to catch him at his most intimate this December.

Explaining the decision, John says, "I thought that since we are closing the Entertainment Centre in Sydney, it would be only right to add the Hordern Pavilion to the 2015 December schedule.

"This is another piece of my long history with Sydney, the Hordern was our original 'go to gig'. I have played there so many times over the years, before the Sydney Entertainment Centre was around, and I can't wait to return."
