"I don't think that anyone, myself included, would have thought that this material I wrote when I was starting out would still have currency after all this time..."
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Saints' classic debut album, (I'm) Stranded, founding member Ed Kuepper will embark on an Australian tour with his band, The Aints.
The veteran Aussie outfit, featuring bassist Peter Oxley (Sunnyboys), drummer Paul Larson (The Celibate Rifles), keyboardist Alister Spence, will kick off the run in September at the Brisbane Festival, followed by stops in Adelaide, Perth, Oakleigh, Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast.
Not only will the band perform tracks from the 1977 LP, but they will also play material from two other revered The Saints albums; Eternally Yours (1978) and Prehistoric Sounds (1978).
"I don't think that anyone, myself included, would have thought that this material I wrote when I was starting out would still have currency after all this time… but here we are celebrating it's 40th anniversary," Kuepper said.
