Dustin TebbuttSydney-bred singer-songwriter Dustin Tebbutt's commendable Splendour In The Grass performance still rings fresh in our brains, but that doesn't mean the troubadour is content to sit back and gloat; rather, Tebbutt has wasted no time at all in setting sights on his next adventure: the joint announcement of a new single, mini-album and tour dates to boot.
Home is both the record's title and its lead single, following on from Tebbutt's venerated debut effort The Breach, and it's not just an arbitrary name; indeed, the new release came together entirely within the confine's of Tebbutt's domicile, and the environment in which it was gestated is inextricable from the finished output's overarching sense of solitude and thoughtfulness, as becomes swiftly apparent on the title track.
To celebrate the mini-album's impending release on Friday, 18 September (via Eleven), Tebbutt will be embarking on a run of shows around the country - proudly presented by The Music - for which he'll kick off on launch day at Melbourne's Corner Hotel. Next, he heads across to Adelaide for a licensed all-ages showing at Adelaide Uni on Saturday, 19 September; back home to Sydney to play the Factory Theatre on Friday, 25 September (also lic/AA); up to The Zoo, in Brisbane, on Friday, 2 October; and finally way out west to perform at Perth's Rosemount on Saturday, 10 October.
A fan pre-sale will be held from 10am next Tuesday, 11 August, with the general public getting their turn from 10am on Thursday, 13 August. Tebbutt will be joined for all shows by special guests Jesse Davidson and Caitlin Park.
