Dolly Parton has finally dropped the first single from her highly anticipated Rock Star album, World On Fire.
While a majority of the album’s whopping 30 tracks feature guest vocalists from a star-studded line-up (Steven Tyler, John Fogerty, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr and Debbie Harry, to name a few), World On Fire only features Parton on vocals.
Observing a “world on fire,” and the “liar” that’s brought us here, she sings, “Don’t get me started on politics / Now, how are we to live in a world like this? / Greedy politicians, present and past / They wouldn’t know the truth if it bit ‘em in the ass”.

“I am very honored [sic] and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure,” Parton wrote about the album on her website.
“I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together!”

Following her 2022 induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame (where she said that she didn't feel like she belonged in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame), Parton appeared on The View and told the panel that she would be releasing her Rock Star album.
"If I’m going to be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, I better do something to earn it," she said. "So I’m doing a rock ‘n’ roll album, and I’m having a lot of the rock stars that I met that night be on the album with me."
Parton unveiled some big names who will appear on the album: Sir Paul McCartney, P!nk, John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks, and Brandi Carlile.
Rock Star will feature nine new original Dolly Parton tracks, as well as 21 versions of rock and roll classics.
