Dirty Projectors Star In And Direct Film

Watch the band's film of death and rebirth.

More Dirty Projectors Dirty Projectors Profile

Dirty Projectors are on a creative warpath following the release of their new short film Hi Custodian. The short film was filmed over five days in Southern California earlier this year, and features music from the band's acclaimed album Swing Lo Magellan.

Hi Custodian stars band members David Longstreth, Amber Coffman, Haley Dekle, Nat Baldwin, and Mike Johnson playing various characters in a narrative about spiritual death and rebirth. The film was produced in collaboration with Pitchfork, and was inspired by music films such as Kanye West's Runaway and Prince's Purple Rain.

Songwriter and director Longsreth said “It was so fun getting into these alternate personas, inhabiting them, and I think we came up with some amazing images."
