Devil You Know Drummer Departs Band To Focus On Legion Festival

With "major" festival announcements coming

More Devil You Know Devil You Know

After withdrawing from a US tour earlier this year to focus on the inaugural Legion Music Festival, Devil You Know drummer John Sankey has officially parted ways with the band.

Australian-born muso and Legion founder, Sankey has lived in LA for the last 15 years, dedicating all of his time and energy to drumming, and playing with the American metalcore supergroup since they formed in 2012. He's now stepping back from his duties behind the kit to prepare for the 2017 debut of the new festival.

“With imminent major announcements coming in the near future I simply no longer have the time to commit to both projects,” Sankey said.

“I'm extremely proud of being a founding member of Devil You Know and will always respect what we have achieved, it's been an awesome ride and I wish Hojo, Fran and Womby nothing but the best as they continue to kick ass into the future.”

Legion fest was born after the demise of Soundwave last year, and in March reached its Pozible campaign goal with a handful of acts – including Lordi, Devil Driver, Frontline Assembly, Devil You Know, Darkest Hour, 28 Days and more – already confirmed for the January run.

Headliner are still to be announced and you can sign up to the festival’s website to be eligible for early bird tickets.
