EXCLUSIVE: Destroy All Lines Launches Agency With Existing Acts & Over 20 New Signings

Destroy All Lines has officially launched its brand new agency.

The Music can exclusively reveal that the Australian indie touring company will deliver "new and exciting opportunities" for its current roster, which boasts acts like Polaris, Alpha Wolf and Thornhill, as well as over 20 new acts including Caligula’s Horse, Lagerstein and Circles.

Speaking to The Music, General Manager of Touring at Destroy All Lines Chris O'Brien said the current pandemic did not deter the company's new venture.

"Our concern was the lack of inaction more than anything," O'Brien said.

"There were a number of iso concerts and drive-in concerts with a more narrowed music focus but we stepped back and thought how is this actually developing artists careers specifically for bands in our market? How is this a long term strategy for us? Do we throw our time and energy into creating a platform like this for our artists or do we look at this from a different perspective. Where is the one-on-one dialogue with unsigned artists about how they navigate their way through this?

"It’s critical the next batch of artists are nurtured and prepared to pounce when we see the back end of this - not just domestically, but globally. We already had a handful of artists we represented that we have taken from 200-capacity level from three years ago up into 1,000 to 3,000 cap levels next year. The conversation was very organic about reaching out to a number of artists we saw potential in to see if they were interested in the idea.

"The response was overwhelming and we are thrilled so many young acts are putting their trust in us. We are not a traditional agency as we are primarily promoters. We don’t come at it from the mind set as a normal agency would.

"We have strategic long term visions for our acts and work very closely with them, their labels and managers about how we position them and the right moves to make."
