DesiignerPerth hip hop fans can’t seem to catch a break, with Brooklyn rapper Desiigner following in the footsteps of Chance The Rapper and cancelling his WA gig last-minute, with a lack of explanation or apology.
The recent Grammy-nominee was set to perform a FOMO Festival sideshow at Metro City in Northbridge tonight, but the venue has issued a statement stating the tonight’s show would not go ahead “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
No specifics have been given and by all accounts – including a review by The Music – nothing out of the ordinary went down at last night’s Melbourne gig.
Desiigner skipping Perth makes three cancellations within the space of two weeks, with Childish Gambino withdrawing from Fall Fremantle. In Donald Glover’s defence, though, he did issue a genuine apology and went on to score big at the Golden Globes.
The venue has said that refunds will automatically be processed.
