The sixth season of cult-favourite comedy series Community, produced by Yahoo Screen, has been a polarising — if largely well received — run, but we have some news that we think every proud Human Being can appreciate: a former main cast member reportedly will be returning for next week's upcoming final episode.
But, since the news comes from a leaked synopsis for the episode, apparently titled Emotional Consequences Of Broadcast Television — and since some of you mightn't have been keeping up to speed with the show over the past 12 episodes — we feel it's our responsibility to remind you that there are potential spoilers ahead, so consider yourself warned.
According to the synopsis:
"As their sixth year at Greendale draws to a close, Abed (Danny Pudi) asks everyone to imagine pitching a TV show about what they would do in season seven."
It's a pretty out-there idea, though not markedly more so than anything else Community has brought to the table this season, and there's a guest star listed who could really help bring it all together: Yvette Nicole Brown, aka Shirley Bennett. Ooh, that's nice.
If you've been keeping score, Brown left Community ahead of its sixth season to care for her ailing father, before taking up a role on Matthew Perry's Odd Couple reboot. Her departure was briefly and comically addressed in the season premiere, but that doesn't mean her absence at Greendale hasn't been felt in a big way.

There's no assurance that either Donald Glover (Troy) or Chevy Chase (Pierce) will join Brown for alumni appearances in the finale — and, realistically, Chase is an ultra-long shot, what with the Pierce-being-dead thing and all — but we're just happy that we'll get to see Shirley one more time in any capacity.
Well… at least one more time. #sixseasonsandamovie
The season finale of Community will be released on Stan this Tuesday, 2 June.
