Ed Sheeran To Break AC/DC Record With Upcoming Sydney Stadium Shows

It just keeps getting bigger.

Having already broken the Australasian touring recordEd Sheeran is set to crack yet another milestone with his upcoming shows in Sydney this week. 

As The Daily Telegraph reports, more than 225,000 are expected to attend the UK superstar's three sold-out concerts at ANZ Stadium which will beat the record for the most number of fans ever to attend a stadium music event in NSW. 

The record is currently held by AC/DC who drew 213,045 punters to their three shows at the venue in 2010, while Adele's gigs last year attracted 194,834 fans.

The news comes after it was confirmed Sheeran's Australian concerts have sold over an astounding one million tickets, beating the previous record by Dire Straits who sold 950,000 on their 1986 tour of the country.
