Best known as the vocalist/guitarist of Philadelphia’s beloved punks The Loved Ones, Dave Hause combined the catchiness of his previous work with his love of singer/songwriters. The resulting Resolutions is a rock album with no genre restrictions and limitations, that features diverse songs as the uplifting “C’Mon Kid,” the polka-inspired “Prague (Revive Me),” the somber “Heavy Heart,” and the romping title track “Resolutions.” Of the album, Hause comments “I feel like these are the best songs I’ve written to date.”

Hause recorded the album with the help from some friends, collectively known as the Empty Bottles Band, and incorporated traditional rock instruments along with the organ, pedal steel and mandolin. The sound is far from Hause’s work with The Loved Ones, setting him free from the “punk turned solo artist” moniker. “The songs I was writing at the time didn't really fit [The Loved Ones style] and seemed to be pulling in a different direction, so I figured I would see that through,” said Hause. “When songs happen quickly and easily you just kind of have to ride the wave, and before I knew it I had a record's worth of good tunes that don't fully fit the Loved Ones paradigm. I think fans of my songwriting will definitely get what’s going on and will be happy to hear it.”
