Dark Mofo Issue Warning After Fraudulent Tickets Allegedly Posted Online

Keep this in mind, fellow punters!

Organisers of Hobart's annual Dark Mofo festival are warning anyone looking to buy tickets this year to avoid purchasing from unauthorised sellers after a number of fraudulent tickets were allegedly posted online with prices up to $200 per person.

After yesterday's announcement that six more performances have sold out, punters are urged to stay away from online sites and community noticeboards that tickets are allegedly being sold on, as legitimate Dark Mofo tickets have a one-time entry barcode that will be scanned on upon entry.

"Dark Mofo and Mona are the only place to purchase tickets to our events, and we can’t guarantee the validity of tickets purchased through any other channels,” Creative Director Leigh Carmichael said.

"Due to capacity and safety concerns, we can’t let more people in to shows even if we want to.

"We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time at Dark Mofo events."

Dark Mofo events that have sold out in recent days include ZHU, Chelsea Wolfe, Savages, Ryoji Ikeda’s Supercodex (live set), Heart of Darkness and pre-sales to the late-night event Blacklist (Sunday, 12 June tickets are still available).
