Dappled Cities, Home Brew And More Announced For Newtown Festival

The event will celebrate year 35 in 2013

The line-up for the 35th annual Newtown Festival has been revealed with a diverse range of local artists plus one overseas act named for the event.

New Zealand hip hop outfit Home Brew will join the likes of indie quintet Dappled Cities, blues rockers The Snowdroppers, Thundamentals MC Tuka, who'll be joined by The Basement Big Band and garage rock band Palms. Here is the full line-up for you to feat your eyes on:

The festival has become a staple of the Sydney calendar since it began in the '70s, with crowd numbers up around the 80,000 mark over the last few years. Past artists who have performed include The Whitlams, Sarah Blasko and Hermitude.

More entertainment at the festival will be on offer for adults and kids through fashion, art and food stalls, panels, amusement rides and puppet shows. Punters can also donate to local foundation, the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, which focuses heavily on helping disadvantaged and vulnerable community members. Head here to find out how to donate.
