Daniel Johns In 'Satisfactory' State After Brief Hospital Stay

The muso was out drinking with friends when he tripped and injured himself outside a bar

More Daniel Johns Daniel Johns

Silverchair frontman and fledgling solo artist Daniel Johns was taken to hospital last night after falling outside a Sydney bar and injuring his head.

As Fairfax reports, despite Johns being released a few hours later in a "satisfactory condition", the original injury's potential nastiness was such that Johns was transported to St Vincent's Hospital from Crown Street's Low 32 cocktail bar for treatment.

According to reports, Johns had been at the bar with a group of friends including his partner of two years, Estelita Huijer, when he went outside about 10pm before tripping and hitting his head on the concrete, resulting in minor injuries.

As St Vincent's Hospital spokesman David Faktor told Fairfax, upon arriving at the hospital, Johns "was treated and discharged in a satisfactory condition".

He could not comment on the specifics of Johns' injuries.

The incident comes at an unfortunate time for Johns, who is the busiest he has been in a long while, with his debut solo album, Talk, scheduled for release on 22 May ahead of performances of songs from the new work at the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid Festival slated for 28-29 May.
