Daniel Johns is set to be release a record next year but there is no plan for a Silverchair reformation.
One of Australia's biggest ever rock exports silverchair won't be reforming anytime soon, it has been revealed this morning, but fans can look forward to some new material from leading man Daniel Johns in 2014.
Speaking at the Face The Music conference in Melbourne, Johns' manager John Watson confirmed, “Daniel's making a solo record, it's looking extremely likely that it'll be out next year.”
In terms of the band reforming he said, “It's not imminently close. You never say never about these things, but his solo record is the next cab off the rank. What happens after that happens after that happens.”
Speaking on a panel on management Watson said following the band's breakout single Freak, his job was “about keeping them from breaking up, which they did multiple times, but never announced.”
