Will we see Ray Stantz again?
Now that US director Paul Feig has begun production for an all-new-all-female Ghostbusters film, speculation has been rife if the surviving original cast members will make an appearance.
Speaking to Spinoff about the new film, co-writer and lead actor of the popular franchise Dan Aykroyd, who has been working tirelessly in recent years to get the third film off the ground, suggested that the decision is not his to make.
"That's up the director", the 62-year-old actor said.
"If asked, I will show up and be of service. If not, it's totally fine with me. I leave powerful talent like that alone to do their own thing."

While Aykroyd couldn't confirm his appearance in the film, he did suggest that the new installment will make reference to the first two features.
"It refers to the first two in a really neat, really classy way..." he said and while many are sceptical of the new direction the beloved films are taking, Aykroyd assured it will live up to expectations.
"Oh, man, it's funny. It's intelligent. It hits the right notes, and I'm really excited about it."
The new cast is made up of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Saturday Night Live cast members, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon - it is due for release next year.
Meanwhile, in March Sony announced that they would also be launching an all-male counterpart film to the new movie.
