Albarn Pulls Plug On Sessions For New Blur Album

According to producer William Orbit in the NME, work on the new Blur album has halted.

Producer William Orbit has told NME that Damon Albarn has recently called off the recording sessions for the new Blur album.

Orbit who worked on the last two Blur albums claims that three weeks ago Albarn decided that it was "all over" and other Blur members were left asking, "Is this it?"

The Guardian reported that Orbit had been tweeting merrily about the sessions earlier in the year but things seemed tyo have soured and tweeted: "Damon, brilliant and talented tho he is, is kinda a shit to the rest of Blur."

Orbit was initially brought back to the fold to work on the re-convened Blur's single Under The Westway - those sessions are believed to have evolved into work on a full album.

Orbit claims that the new Blur material "sounded amazing" and it was believed that they were working at having the material ready to coincide with their appaerance at the London Olympics closing concert.
