Damien Rice Plots 2025 Australia & New Zealand Tour

Prolific Irish troubadour Damien Rice isn’t staying away from Australia for four or ten years, like the times between his last visits.

Today, he is announcing his return to Australia and a long-awaited visit to New Zealand for January and February 2025. The announcement follows his May 2023 Australian tour, which saw “metaphorical jaws on the floor” at his Melbourne date.

Set to perform in theatres across the country, the tour begins at Adelaide’s Her Majesty’s Theatre on Wednesday, 22 January. From there, Rice will perform at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre, Bendigo’s Ulumbarra Theatre, the Canberra Theatre, Thirroul’s Anita’s Theatre, Sydney’s State Theatre, Newcastle’s Civic Theatre, and wraps up at Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Thursday, 6 February.

The New Zealand dates begin at Auckland’s Bruce Mason Centre on Sunday, 9 February, followed by shows at the Wellington Opera House and the James Hay Theatre in Christchurch.

In 2022, Rice celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of his debut album, O. The record saw him land a Top 10 spot on the UK Album Chart, plus three Top 30 UK singles and a Shortlist Music Prize. Rice dropped his follow-up album, 9, in 2006. 2014 saw the release of his third and latest studio album, My Favourite Faded Fantasy.
