"She should have isolated for a week because we tested positive."

A singer from the Czech Republic has passed away after reportedly contracting COVID intentionally.

As BBC reports, artist Hana Horka, a member of long-running folk group Asonance, has died after deliberating catching the virus from her family.

Her son, Jan Rek, told BBC that he and his father, who are both vaccinated, caught COVID over Christmas and instead of separating herself from the pair, she chose to expose herself to the virus, despite being unvaccinated.

"She should have isolated for a week because we tested positive. But she was with us the whole time," Jan Rek said.

It’s reported that she made the decision in order to get a ‘recovery pass’ to access certain venues that unvaccinated people aren’t allowed to enter.

In the Czech Republic, either proof of vaccination or recent infection from the virus is required to enter many venues.
