Cub SportUPDATE: Cub Sport have confirmed that their show in Sydney will go ahead tonight.
ORIGINAL STORY: Brisbane indie outfit Cub Sport were forced to cut short a performance in Melbourne last night after frontman Tim Nelson succumbed to an apparent illness affecting his voice.
The Music scribe Michael Prebeg was in the audience at their gig at Northcote Social Club, which they were undertaking as part of their current This Is Our Vice tour with support act (and one-half of Zefereli) Clea.
"The lead singer, Tim Nelson, claimed that he was losing his voice by the second song in and even brought a vapour inhaler onto the stage with him," Prebeg explained. "They played four songs, including Come On Mess Me Up and a cover of Kanye’s Ultralight Beam, before Nelson apologised that they could no longer continue their set."
According to Prebeg, the band promised fans at the sold-out show that they would do their best to make it up to them in the near future, though from the sounds of things they did just fine at breaking a few hearts even with a limited set and battling Nelson's ailment.

Cub Sport are due to play in Sydney tonight at Newtown Social Club for the final scheduled date on their tour.
There has been no word to the contrary so far, but The Music has reached out to their management to confirm whether that show will go ahead as planned.
