Crowded House Are Well On Their Way To Claim This Week's ARIA Chart #1

Here's how the mid-week figures have shaped up.

Crowded House might be claiming their fifth Australian #1 album this week. 

According to mid-week figures, the much-loved Australia/New Zealand group are currently gunning for the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart with their latest release Dreamers Are Waiting. 

The release is their first studio album in over a decade, following on from 2010's Intriguer. 

If the album claims the #1 as predicted, this will give the group their fifth #1 with a studio album, joining alongside classics like 1986 debut Crowded House, 1988's Temple Of Low Men, 2007's Time On Earth and Intriguer. 

1991's Woodface and 1993's Together Alone are Crowded House's only studio albums not to hit #1, with both peaking at #2 on release. The group also scored the #1 spot for their first greatest hits release, Recurring Dream: The Very Best Of Crowded House back in 1996.

Looking at the wider chart, Rise Against's latest Nowhere Generation is vying for the Top 5 on debut. It's up against The Avalanches' classic Since I Left You which is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special edition vinyl re-issue. Wolf Alice's Blue Weekend is expected to land in the Top 10, while Lil Baby & Lil Durk's The Voice Of The Heroes is looking at Top 20.

Over on the Singles Chart, Olivia Rodrigo's Favourite Crime - from her chart-topping debut album Sour - is looking to debut in the Top 20 alongside Billie Eilish's latest, Lost Cause. 

Marshmello & Jonas Brothers' Leave Before You Love Me is vying for Top 50 on debut, while Dua Lipa's Levitating and Vance Joy's Missing Piece are expected to move into the Top 10 and Top 40 respectively.
