“It's Such A Trap”: Meg Mac Refuses To Be Another Tragic Tale On 'It's My Party'

Creed vocalist hints at joining Stone Temple Pilots, band quickly denies

Creed (meh...) frontman Scott Stapp inadvertently put his name in headlines again this week, when the musician was coy about the possibility of joining Stone Temple Pilots.

In an interview with Rock 100.5's 'Bailey and Southside', Stapp dangled the carrot when he first said, "I've also been working on a new album, with a new group of guys...guys from pretty well known rock bands...I can't really share the details about it [though]."

Ok, we'll take the bait, if we must.

When probed further, Stapp was asked outright if the new role was with Stone Temple Pilots, to which the singer responded neutrally (as transcribed by theprp.com), "I can’t say, man, I can’t say. I can’t confirm or deny. [But] I will tell you this: there is a six-degree-separation connection between this new project and the band you mentioned.”

However, Stone Temple Pilots, in response to the speculation, have issued their own statement, and, while brief, it's pretty emphatic.

"Despite recent comments, Scott Stapp is not, nor has he ever been considered as the singer for STP."
