Courtney Barnett To Take New Album Out On Tour

The LP drops next month

More Courtney Barnett Courtney Barnett Profile

Melbourne singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett will be launching her soon-to-be-released debut album at a few headline shows this May.

Barnett's long-awaited first long-player, Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit, drops next month so the next, natural step is to showcase the record live, which she'll do in Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Supporting the Avant Gardener singer throughout the run will be fellow Melbourne act Teeth & Tongue.

Over the last couple of years Barnett has become one of the country's most acclaimed exports, winning praise from music critics, websites and blogs all over the world, leading to a number of massive festival appearances including Glastonbury, Primavera, Coachella and Lollapalooza.

We got our first taste of the debut LP late last month in the shape of lead single Pedestrian At Best, with the album to follow on Friday, 20 Mar through Milk! Records/Remote Control Records.

Tickets to Barnett's album launch shows go on sale Monday, 16 Feb at 9am, with special pre-sale tickets for Sydney and Melbourne available this Thursday. Head to theGuide and The Music App for more.
