'60s icon Cilla Black died of a stroke after falling in her Spanish home, a coroner has confirmed.
As BBC News reports, The Beatles protege was sunbathing in her villa in Estepona when she stood up, lost her balance and fell, knocking her unconscious.
Black subsequently passed away due a stroke, though it was confirmed she did not suffer.
The Liverpool-born singer's three sons announced that they would return their mother's body to the UK to arrange a funeral.
Robert, Ben and Jack Willis expressed their thanks of support from friends and family in a joint statement.
"We are devastated by the sad loss of our mother, but have been deeply touched by all the kind messages of support from her friends, fans, the public and media," the statement read.
"We would like to thank everyone, especially the people of Liverpool. The tributes and condolences have really helped us through these difficult times."
Details for the funeral are expected to be announced shortly.
