The future looks sharp
Stalwart independent label Cooking Vinyl Australia has revaled that it has formed a long-term partnership with New York-based fellow indie Razor & Tie.
The partnership bestows upon CVA representation rights for Razor & Tie's metal and rock signings in Australia and New Zealand. To that end, the new team-up has wasted no time in revealing that the first such act who will be guided to Oz under Cooking Vinyl's caring wing is none other than Salt Lake City deathcore luminaries Chelsea Grin.
Chelsea Grin's brutal, keenly awaited third LP Ashes To Ashes is set to drop here and across the ditch on July 11, with releases from Yellowcard and more to be announced in the near future.
“I've been fortunate enough to work with Razor & Tie many times over the years and developed a strong relationship with their team,” Cooking Vinyl Australia chief Stu Harvey said in a statement. “Razor & Tie have built one of the most impressive rock rosters in the US and we are thrilled to announce this new partnership that will see Cooking Vinyl representing their roster throughout Australia and New Zealand.”

Razor & Tie is one of the US' most successful indie labels, serving as home to a wide range of beloved alternative acts including Yellowcard, All That Remains, Starset, Such Gold, The Sword and others.
For Harvey's part, he has previous experience with renowned acts such as Parkway Drive, Bring Me The Horizon, Thy Art Is Murder and Razor & Tie signees All That Remains. Cooking Vinyl Australia launched last year to represent the wider Cooking Vinyl roster Down Under.
However, despite the label's relative youth, Harvey and his team have signed both local and international artists such as Calling All Cars, Kate Miller-Heidke, High Tension, You Me At Six and Modern Baseball. The label also exists in partnership with Cooking Vinyl UK (The Prodigy, Billy Bragg, Marilyn Manson), Aussie heavy-tunes hero Resist Records (Parkway Drive, Against Me!, La Dispute, Confession) and Canada's Dine Alone Records (City and Colour, Alexisonfire, Twin Forks), giving it a wealth of experience to help ensure that its newest joint venture is a resounding success.
“We are excited to be working with the team at Cooking Vinyl Australia and looking forward to success with our rock releases,” Razor & Tie's executive VP of business and legal affairs, Dan Hoffman, said.
