In the wake of Converse's announcement that it will be releasing Sex Pistols-themed shoes as part of its Spring 2016 catalogue, the venerated company has added to the comfort prospects on our horizons with the reveal of their Chuck Taylor All Star II Knit Collection, inspired by festival-worn feet the world over.
Utilising bright colours influenced by 'the illuminating kaleidoscopic light shows' oft seen at festival stages, the woven shoe is made of ultra-thin knit material while maintaining integrity and support, partially attributable to its inbuilt Nike Lunarlon sockliner, non-slip padded tongue and crazy-soft micro-suede lining. MICRO-SUEDE.
Aesthetic bonuses include a fully embroidered All Star ankle patch, high foxing and monochrome matte eyelets, while the shoe will be available in six colours — Volt Green, Roadtrip Blue, Spray Paint Blue, Red, White and Black — for $130 from today via Converse's online store, the Converse Melbourne Central flagship store and selected Hype DC, Platypus Shoes and Foot Locker outlets around Australia.
See the Converse website for more information, and check out a new mini-documentary created in collaboration with the company to highlight remarkable figures of the music industry. This week: High Tension frontwoman Karina Utomo.
