Confession ProfileVenerated veteran frontman Michael Crafter plans to "retire" and disband melodic hardcore outfit Confession, his band for the past seven years, following a final tour, he announced today.
Taking to Facebook to explain his intent, Crafter said that Confession started out "with the idea of continuing to do music and play shows" following his departure from I Killed The Prom Queen but, seven years, three albums — Cancer (2009), The Long Way Home (2011), Life & Death (2014) — countless tours, their debut Can't Live, Can't Breathe EP (2008) and "a football side of ex-members" later, "I'm sitting here with the idea that we've done enough and it's time to move on".
"Confession has been my musical outlet and I'll forever be grateful to everyone who's supported the band and ever been a part of it," Crafter wrote. "As far as music goes, this was always going to be my last ditch effort and once this was done, I was done with being in a band.
"But it's been great to be able to do what we have done, recorded some music and had loads of fun on the road. Not only that, but meet some amazing friends along the way."
Crafter went on to explain that the band will be "booking a final tour soon", with an eye to taking along some friends for the ride, before thanking everyone for their support once more and signing off, describing himself as "Officially Retired".

The band was — duh — not without controversy over its tenure; notably, last year Crafter was forced to defend Confession's Fuck Cancer posters after Neil Mitchell got a hold of them, while 2012's line-up change was somewhat controversial in its own right.
It's all in the past, though — eyes forward to the farewell tour and the chance to thank Crafter & co. for all they've done these past seven years. Keep an eye on theGuide or The Music App for dates as they materialise.
