Making their big debut.

More Coldplay More Coldplay

With today's release of their seventh studio album A Head Full Of Dreams, UK rock act Coldplay have been confirmed as the headlining act for next year's NFL Super Bowl half time show.

According to Rolling Stone, the London-founded group will make their debut at the annual spectacle on 7 February at Levi's Stadium in California, alongside US singer Bruno Mars who also performed in 2014.

Coldplay will join an illustrious list of iconic acts who have hit the Super Bowl stage in years past including Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beyonce, Prince and more.

Last year's half time show featured pop star Katy Perry who performed to a worldwide audience of over 110 million.

Meanwhile, similarly to Adele and Taylor Swift, Coldplay's new album will not immediately be available on streaming services for free upon its release, though it will feature on Apple Music and Tidal.

The band have just kicked off a European tour and will perform through to the new year before they hit the Super Bowl next February.
