Co-founder and bassist of US band Harvey Danger, Aaron Hoffman, has sadly passed away at 43 years of age.
Hoffman died on Sunday from respiratory failure, following a long battle with illness.
While band member Sean Nelson revealed the tragic news in The Stranger, the frontman released an additional statement via the official Harvey Danger Facebook page just hours ago.
"Once again, we are overwhelmed with sadness to report that our very own beloved bandmate and friend Aaron Huffman, bassist and co-founder of Harvey Danger, died yesterday of respiratory failure following a long illness. His family was with him and he wasn't in pain," the statement reads.
"Every single person in the extended family of the band loved Aaron dearly, and his life was a powerful example of humor, courage, and dedication to making art. We will miss him more than anyone will ever be able to communicate."

After forming in 1993, Harvey Danger's biggest hit came in 1998 with Flagpole Sitta from their debut album, Where Have All The Merrymakers Gone?.
The band followed the popular record up with two more studio albums in King James Version (2000) and Little By Little (2005).
In 2009, Harvey Danger announced they were splitting up amicably, before embarking on a farewell tour.
